Between Two Horizons
Dario was born in January 3th, 1979. His native city is Palermo (in Sicily in Italy) He learned to play guitar very soon (he was only seven years) After same lessons with Toti Basso and Giuseppe Bellanca (two very famous classical guitarists in Italy), he excelled all the exams to the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory of Palermo. Here he studied classical guitar and music theory for two years. In this period he formed, with Max and Alex Grillo (his brothers) his first band called "Dragon's Breath".In 1997, Dario Knew Claudio Diprima (actual drummer of Thy Majestie).Together they formed the "Squeezy Boyz" band (the first real street-glam band in Palermo)
At the same time, Dario began to study singing. He, through Claudio, knew many Heavy-metal bands like Skid Row, Unruly Child, White Lion and many important others of melodic Hard rock (his favourite genre) .The love for singing drove him to participate in same stages with Elizabeth Sabine (singing-master of Axl Rose, Dave Mustaine, Ron Keel, Love Hate ecc.).In 1998 he entered in the principal band of Claudio, "Thy Majestie" .Dario adapted his voice very soon to the sound of the band. The original and clear voice of Dario gave to the music of Thy Majestie, the feeling of AOR and the power of heavy metal. After two albums ("The Lasting Power" and "hastings 1066") and one Ep entitled "Echoes of war", Dario left Thy Majestie in october 2003 to dedicate all his talent in PLATENS , the new project in which he plays all the instruments. In June 2004 this first solo album for Frontiers records was released(The best label of Hard Rock in the world) entitled "Between Two Horizons" .
Today, the young boy studies lyric-singing with Francesco
Ballo (one of the best Tenor of the "Teatro Massimo" choir and
brother of Pietro Ballo , the new sensational Italian Tenor) and Aldo
Sardo (another great italian tenor).
Hobbies: Internet, Cinema, PS2 , movie soundtracks , old drinks and whisky
and beer. Favourite singers: Mark Free (the best singer of Hard rock in
the world!), Joe Lynn Turner, Roy Khan , Russen Allen, Jeff Scott Soto
, Johnny Gioeli, Sebastian Bach ,Tommy Heart and Jorn Lande.. Favourite
Bands : Guns'n'Roses, Kamelot , Giant , Symphony X , Unruly Child and
